Painting
The scenic beauty of our island has been inspiration to many artists. Painters, through different styles, portray not only our scenery but also our heritage and history, the soul of our people and our ancestors, the resilience of our culture... Acrylic Painting, Level 1 Age range: 10 years of age and older (adults accepted). Requirements: None, except a desire to learn. Registration fee: $35.00 Meetings: The group will meet once a week on Thursdays at 7 PM at the Forest Hill Community High School in West Palm Beach, for a total of 8 sessions. Objectives: 1. Get acquainted with the art materials and tools used for drawing and painting. 2. Learn basic sketching and drawing techniques using for acrylic painting. 3. Learn the basic color theory and practical applications and techniques. 4. Apply the theory and techniques to color mixing on canvas. 5. Put into practice the techniques learned to create basic paintings with acrylics. Goal: To receive an Attendance Certificate and the opportunity to register for the Acrylic Painting, Level 2, program. As resources in our programs, these talented Puerto Rican painters help others develop their talents while preserving our culture.
